Mancino

Smack dab between (I’m not the first scribe to note this, I’ll admit) Modest Mouse and The Arcade Fire lies Mancino, a band that crafts deft, beat-inflected rock with smart pop sensibilities that also call to mind Danielson (“People We Meet,” “Definition Of An Accident”) and some kind of prog-cum-pop experiment (Redundant? Maybe.) gone (not horribly) awry. Although these cats could stand to have a few more hooks tossed in here and there, there’s not much to prevent you from kicking back at your next (minor) celebrity art party with Manners Matter. - Jedd Beaudoin (2007, The Daily Copper)
