Punk Goes Acoustic, Volume 2
Fearless

Did the world need to hear acoustic renditions of Reliant K, Sherwood and Silverstein tunes? Maybe. This collection certainly highlights the sensible pop melodies behind Daphne Loves Derby’s “Sun,” Alesana’s “Apology” and the everloving (and aforementioned) Sherwood’s “The Only Song.” The real winner here, though is Say Anything’s “Woe,” while Mayday Parade’s “Three Cheers For Five Years” and The Spill Canvas’ “Staplegunned” prove largely unnecessary. But such is the life of a compilation album. Fans will find favor with whatever they choose and foes will find something to skip over as they listen for cream-filled goodness. - Jedd Beaudoin (2007, The Daily Copper)
