Rwake
Voices of Omens
Relapse

Okay, so let’s get it out of the way; the “r” is silent. But this band is far from it. Hailing from Arkansas could leave a band like Rwake delving into a typical boogie fueled, beer gut toting Southern battered stoner rock band but instead they dig deeper. Like a backwoods mix of the swamps from the Natural State, Voices is like being lost in a densely wooded area with a pack of mutated kids from Deliverance lurking in the shadows. On their third studio outing and their first for Relapse, Rwake rests on the axis of the arty peppering’s of Neurosis and Isis with half buried Moog fumes and elastic screaming with a pummeling resonance that oozes down like the thickest sludge. Foreboding and intricate all at one, a murky psychedelic experience is guaranteed from start to finish. Rwow! - Chris Pacifico (2007, The Daily Copper)
