Soeza |
Forming in 1996, Soeza has put out some
impressive releases, including two highly acclaimed EPs, and a charming debut,
2001’s Founded by Sportmen
and Outlaws on the French label, Prohibited. Their second record and Gringo
debut, Why Do You Do? genuinely displays the band’s maturity and growth,
where through their music and creativity they have found a greater degree of
focus. Here you will find a lush tapestry of post-hardcore influences, blending
in with high energy, danceable grooves, stunning percussion, passionate guitars,
all featured to greater heighten the effect of these well-crafted compositions.
Soeza can be melodically diverse at times; subtle and graceful in their approach,
only to soon fully lash out with angular rock sensibilities. As a result, songs
such as the epic opener “Brackish Waters,” the haunting “Downscale,” and
the shifting, disorienting “Prince The Boat” take the listener
on a gripping journey full of twists and turns, full of melodic colors and
tempos. |
