The Phantom Family Halo
The Legend of Black Six
Cold Sweat

To label the Phantom Family Halo as just a psychedelic band would be an understatement. True, they do explode a vivid kaleidoscopic paradigm but its all about the variety of eeriness in their palate. Everything from Krautrock, meat and potatoes prog garnished in hazy post rock, and the sludgiest of the Velvet Underground’s moments simmer and waft in the air like cigarette smoke. Rays of vintage organs glimmer and slither while the melodies and vocals are just downright disturbing. With clanking and clattering mixed in alongside the mostly tip toeing percussion, Phantom Family Halo get their reverb Creation Records like blasts out on some tracks but their focus is a trance like state of mystical hypnosis they put the listener through whether they know it or not. The Legend of Black Six isn’t just an album for one to just listen but to feel. - Chris Pacifico (2008, The Daily Copper)
