Eric Elbogen returns with perhaps the strongest Say Hi to Your Mom outing to date, a moody and melodic exploration of humor and neurotic psyche in the a cramped bedroom in a tiny cramped apartment in a great big, sprawling city. Elbogen’s humor as it is works in a way that makes “Yeah, I’m In Love With An Android” work on more than one layer - you can take it as a sincere meditation on loneliness or a poke at those who spend a lot of time contemplating the kind of loneliness the tune’s protagonist experiences. Either way, it’s a beautiful song and one of many that make Ferocious Mopes a fun and all-too-short ride. – Jedd Beaudoin
