As inventive-sounding collective as you might hope for coming from the cold climes of Canada. One part Strapping Young Lad (tracks such as “Head Of The Baptist” and “RIP” at times call to mind Devin Townsend’s penchant for creating big, orchestral-type settings in the context of a “basic” metal song) and another part something else, something closer to The Esoteric but perhaps a little more dynamic, Cursed has definitely delivered the goods here. Fantastic vocals (courtesy Chris Colohan) and unbelievably effed up guitars (Christian McMaster and Radwan. Moumneh) combine to give you the humiliating kick in the cranium you so richly deserve at the end of a long, long day. – Jedd Beaudoin
