The rock ‘n’ roll landscape is littered with guys raised on a steady diet of AC/DC, Black Flag and reverent whispers of the MC5 and Stooges. Count this band of rough riders among those. Coming off as a distant cousin of Cheeseburger and Kansas City’s Last of the V8s, this quintet rocks hard, sans originality but with enthusiasm, for a solid half hour on this seven-song sojourn. “Black Gold,” “Walk With You” and “Talk About It” are especially convincing. Skull Time isn’t going to change the world but it sure as hell will help your drinks go down a lot easier which in turn will make the music sound a whole hell of a lot better. Decent rock ‘n’ roll from a band mining the fertile soil of the moment. - Jedd Beaudoin
